Hugh McGough

Hugh McGough retired on June 30, 2012, as General Counsel of PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company and School Employees Credit Union of Washington, both of Seattle, Washington. He had been General Counsel of Unigard Insurance Group In Seattle from 1983 to August 1, 1994 when he joined PEMCO. He had been a member of Unigard's Legal Department since 1962. He was a member of the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission from 1981 to 1988 and chairman in 1983 and 1984 and 1986 and 1987. He is a Colonel (retired) in the Judge Advocate General Corps, US Army Reserve. He served as president of the Washington Insurance Council in 1993 and 1994, and as a member of the board and Secretary of the Washington Insurance Guarantee Association from 1986 to 1994. He is a 1954 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law and a 1949 graduate of O'Dea High School. He was born in Seattle in 1931, is married to Teel; the father of Nancy, Tom, and Mary; and the grandfather of Hugh McGough and Isabel McGough.
