[Indexed by Ancestry.com as Barthom Connell, although the m after Bartho is in superscript, and clearly part of an abreviation of Bartholomew. This is Bartholomew Connell who married a daughter of Miles and Elizabeth Spencer McGough. Bartholomew Connell and his wife are listed in the 1790 census of Harford county, Maryland. (1800) Arthur McGough, male 26 through 44 (roll 40, page 123). [This is the Arthur McGough family described in my page: McGoughs in America before 1790: Arthur and Susan McGough. Jacob Glass was two listings removed from that of Arthur McGough. Arthur's oldest son, John McGough, married Sarah (Sally) Glass, a daughter of Jacob Glass and Anne Catharine Glass. Arthur McGough (junior) married Margaret Glass, who was the sister of the Sarah (Sally) Glass who had married his brother John. Another son of Arthur McGough, James McGough, married another Margaret Glass who was a niece of the Margaret Glass who had married his older brother, Arthur; and a niece of Sarah (Sally) Glass who married his brother John.]

Arthur McGough, Jr., married Margaret Glass at St. Michael, Loretto, Cmabria county, Pennsylvania, on April 21, 1812. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Demetrius Augustine Gallitzin. Witnesses were Jacob Troxel and Hugh Curren (Ledoux, volume 1, page 148, #3032). A John McGough and a Prudence Gorman were sponsors at the baptism of Helen Keepers on November 10, 1805. Thomas McGough and Peter McGough (born in 1809?) were born in Allegheny township, Huntingdon county, Pennslvania, which was a part of Huntingdon county that became part of Cambria county on March 26, 1804.

Mary McGough married Francis Cooper, son of Henry Cooper, on February 19, 1828, at St. Michael in Loretto. The ceremony was performed by by the Reverend Demetrius Augustine Gallitzin (Ledoux, volume 1, page 154, #3238).]
[There was a later daughter, Agnes McGough, born on February 10, 1802, and baptized on April 30, 1802, by the Reverend Demetrius Augustine Gallitzin at St. Michael, Loretto, Cambria county, Pennsylvania. Godparents were Rev. Augustine Smith (Gallitzin) and Rachel White (Ledoux, volume 1, page 2, #31).]

(1800) William McGough, male 26 through 44 (roll 47, page 8a). [Son of Robert McGough and Sarah Matilda Carson. William moved to Greene county,Georgia, before 1810, where he died in 1823. Rowe, page 198. Another date given for the birth of Thomas Carson McGough to William and Nancy McGough in Abbeville, South Carolina, is January 4, 1799. He was married to Lana Kitchens on April 24,1832 (Rowe, at page 199, says April 24, 1832), in Jones county, Georgia, and died (from a fall off a wagon) in Eastland county, Texas, on August 12, 1880.
